Manatee Beach
On Beautiful Anna Maria Island
Manatee Beach, located at the end of Manatee
Ave. is a large public beach with free parking, concessions, lifeguards, restrooms, picnic tables and showers. This is
a favorite beach of many, so get there early, especially on weekends and enjoy what locals flock to year-round. An
outdoor patio with umbrella covered tables overlook fit bodies kicking up sand at the volley ball courts while a nearby
playground accommodates the toddler set. Sun worshipers and sandcastle builders, don’t despair! The beach’s wide sandy
girth affords plenty of acreage for undisturbed bliss!
Ample Free Parking…But Get There Early! If
staying on the island, leave the car behind and hop aboard a Free Trolley running north on Marina Drive and South on Gulf
Drive to beach and shopping districts. For only 75 cents, take the Longboat Key Trolley @ Coquina Beach to downtown
Sarasota with stops on Longboat Key and St. Armands Circle. Daily service runs from 6am to 11pm every 30 minutes.
Looking for a place to stay?
The vacation rentals vary from apartment
efficiencies and motel rooms to cottages and rental condominiums. The atmosphere is relaxing and casual with plenty of
good restaurants, performing arts and quaint little shops. What makes Anna Maria so attractive to visitors is its
private island feel... so book early and go back in time on this little island paradise. If staying on the Island,
leave the car and ride the "FREE trolleys" that travel daily from Coquina Beach to Anna Maria Pier; with service
starting at 6:00a.m. till 10:30p.m.; at 30 minute intervals.
